About.

I am an abstract painter, creative educator and occasional embroiderer living in Melbourne with my two teenage sons.

Painting has always been my way of making sense of the world and my experience of life. It gives me energy and feelings of calm in equal measures.

The act of creating something beautiful out of ‘nothing’ is addictive. I hope to share this sense of belonging and inspired understanding with you.

HISTORY

I was born in Tamworth NSW ‘country music capital of Australia’ and raised on the far North Coast of NSW ‘alternative lifestyle capital of Australia’.

As a 20 year old, with a BA in Humanities behind me and an Associate Diploma in professional writing + editing ahead of me, I moved to Melbourne.

I spent my 20s gaining experience in publishing and graphic design. While I enjoyed this work, I always knew I needed to centre my life around my own creativity. While I was pregnant with my first son — 18 years ago — I decided to leave these career paths behind and began painting for the joy of painting alone.

I haven’t stop painting since!

For the last 6 years I have enjoyed sharing my love of painting through workshops. This workshop is now offered as a self-paced online course: Abstract painting for beginners.

Through my fine art business, I have enjoyed sending my work around the world to collectors, galleries and design stores as well as collaborating with other like-minded businesses to create memorable and unique products featuring my work. My work has been featured on TV shows and in many magazines and blogs.

Past features include Uppercase magazine, Home Beautiful magazine, The Sunday Age and local and international design blogs such as Frankie magazine blog, DesignSponge, Design Milk, Studio Home and We are Scout.

Recent collaborative partners have included Scandinavian Wallpaper & Decor, leather goods label Oktoberdee and fashion label Ginny & Jude.
